First it was the New Black Panthers offering a bounty for George Zimmerman, which played right into the hands of the real racists. This is the kind of stuff a reactionary organization is good at, and the response is predictable. 


The NBP is a group that the older but still militant Black Panthers of the 60’s completely disavowed  in 1989 when they first appeared, contesting the use of the name and calling them a "black racist hate group." Over the years, NBP members have offered good evidence of the old Black Panther’s concerns:

Khalid Abdul Muhammad, one of the party's future leaders made this statement in Baltimore on February 19, 1994.

"Our lessons talk about the bloodsuckers of the poor… . It's that old no-good Jew, that old impostor Jew, that old hooked-nose, bagel-eating, lox-eating, Johnny-come-lately, perpetrating-a-fraud, just-crawled-out-of-the-caves-and-hills-of-Europe, so-called damn Jew … and I feel everything I'm saying up here is kosher."

The party's national chairman Malik Zulu Shabazz, while protesting at B'nai B'rith International headquarters in Washington, D.C., April 20, 2002 made the following comment…

"Kill every goddamn Zionist in Israel! Goddamn little babies, goddamn old ladies! Blow up Zionist supermarkets!"  

In January 2009, in a National Geographic documentary, some dude named King Samir Shabazz who was the head of the head of the party's Philadelphia chapter's, made these delightful statements:

"I hate white people. All of them. Every last iota of a cracker, I hate it. We didn't come out here to play today. There's too much serious business going on in the black community to be out here sliding through South Street with white, dirty, cracker whore bitches on our arms, and we call ourselves black men. … What the hell is wrong with you black man? You at a doomsday with a white girl on your damn arm. We keep begging white people for freedom! No wonder we not free! Your enemy cannot make you free, fool! You want freedom? You going to have to kill some crackers! You going to have to kill some of their babies!"

So anyway, exactly what I figured would happen… has. The Neo-Nazi National Socialist Movement say that they are now “patrolling” the area, and say they are “prepared” in the event of a “race riot” … this according to that group’s “Commander,” Jeff Schoep.

Here are a few little ditties from NSM and its members. Liz Lemon reports that in a 2007 interview, Schoep stated,

“When … you take a German Shepherd and mix him with a Golden Retriever you have a worthless animal that nobody wants and that isn’t worth anything if you’re trying to breed him or sell him. … [T]hese degenerates that allow their children to race mix and this sort of thing, they’re destroying the bloodlines of both races.”

And we have a quote from a piece taken directly from the group’s website, entitled “25 Points of American National Socialism.”

“All non-White immigration must be prevented. We demand that all non-Whites currently residing in America be required to leave the nation forthwith and return to their land of origin: peacefully or by force.”

Also from Liz Lemon, one of the groups more prominent member JT Ready (which sounds like an alias) made this comment in a June 15, 2008, blog post…

“I do not see the niggers, homosexuals, Mexicans, Jews, or even child molesters ashamed or afraid to speak their minds and rally, march, post, and be activists for their sick cause. And too many brave men and women died to give me the chance to fight now. I will honor their blood and fight for soil.”

So this is where we are, folks. Well over half a century of “progress,” and this is where we still are. If anything, recent events in the Church and the Republican Party indicate we are losing ground. We certainly haven’t gained any.

The Southern Poverty Law Center lists both of these as hate groups.
