I really can't say why, but Sally Ride was a dream come true for me. Maybe it was because I understood that if such a person could achieve such lofty heights that maybe I had a chance to get somewhere myself.

Unintentional I'm sure, but the old Lou Reed song has played in my head since Sally first took to space. I always liked that song,
