So when we eventually do uncover evidence that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe, how will the world change? Davies is a cosmologist and astrobiologist at Arizona State University, where he is director of the Beyond Center for Fundamental Concepts in Science.

Many will just accept it, as they did the heliocentric solar system, but the obsessive reality denialists will probably continue to deny reality.
